I live in the Riverside area of Wichita, Kansas. Yes, I live in Kansas. Do please try to restrain yourself from making Wizard of Oz jokes--those of us who live here have heard them all, I promise. I am in my senior year at Friends University, inches away from a bachelor's degree in biology. Well, perhaps a bit more than inches--I should graduate in May. This is assuming I manage to survive a nineteen-hour semester this spring. *shudder*
Currently, I plan to go straight on to graduate school. My goal is a Ph.D. in something microbiological--I intend to do infectious disease research, if all goes well.
I used to work at Barnes and Noble, but I found myself spending too much money there--some weeks went by that I spent more than I earned! So, I ditched that and now work in the computer lab here at school. Hence the reason I have time to maintain this page! When I'm working on this, it's a fair bet than I'm shirking microbiology, genetics, or physics homework.
I spend a fair amount of my online time in rec.arts.sf.written.robert-jordan, a newsgroup ostensibly devoted to the works of Robert Jordan (especially the Wheel of Time), but primarily a place to have fun. If you're interested, be sure to check out the FAQ for the Wheel of Time and also the one for the newsgroup.
As for non-online leisure time, I am relatively active in the local SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). Within this group, I participate mainly in European dance, but I manage to keep up with a couple of other activities as well.
